Minutes

Topic Detail (as discussed in AGM) Vote
Fees Approx 17 subs in 2025. Sharing our fixed costs of£850 over 17 people means subs needs to be £50 to break even. Y
Happy to continue setting race fees on a case by case basis? Y
3 year max for officials From our constitution: Remove condition "subject to termination of office by resignation at most three years after their appointment"
Y
(Re)election of officials From our constitution: Vote to continue election of Chair (Vince), and the Secretary (Chris Stubbs) and Treasurer (MM), Safeguarding Officer (Keegan), Competitions Secretary (Chris Shakespeare)of the Club. Y
Change wording of rules around Helmets Remove wording around DOT/SNELL (inc eye protection) as these are legacy from the american rules. Instead just say "A ¾ or full-face motorcycle, motocross, or automotive racing helmet with ACU approval / kitemark / BS / CE / UKCA". Judgement of relevant standards is at the discretion of the tech checker.
Drivers who wear helmets that do not cover the eyes are required to wear motorcycle or impact rated (safety glasses) eye protection.
Y
Discussion on age/driving license requirement Remove the requirement for drivers to have a driving lic, but minimum age 17 Y
Align rules with things in driver/marshal briefing Must register.
Must sign waivers.
Alcohol/drug policy.
Non contact sport.
General event/site safety:
Use of track between races
Reckless driving in proximity to people/property
People have priority
Disable hacky while unattended
Y
Inconsistencies in BOM Update section 1.12.2 to reflect items in 1.11 and 1.12 which are also excluded from BOM. Perhaps say "in addition to items in 1.11 and 1.12..." Y
Hovercraft Remove clause allowing hovercraft, it's a joke that would just be too complicated. Y
Rear lights Section 1.12.1 specifies front lights are required for night time racing, rear lights are not mandatory. Introduce requirement for rear lights (red) too for night races? White front lights too. Y
2026 Rules Published start of Nov, come in to force 1st April. Y
Requirement for 5v power for transponders Racers Shall provide a 5v <500mA output to a JST RCY connector to power a transponder. Y
Bumper regulations 1. Bumpers shall be firmly secured to the frame/chassis rather than body.
2. Bumpers are exempt from the BOM, as all safety systems are, this will be clarified better in the rules.
3. Bumpers shall be of adequate strength such that they do not break regularly (>2 breaks per season/year shall invoke a redesign at the discretion of the tech checker).
4. It is recommended (but for now not mandatory) that bumpers are constructed from impact resistant plastic (eg HDPE, LEDPE, RG1000 etc) to avoid them breaking
5. Bumper height/width rules will remain as previous, but clarified better with a diagram.
6. It is recommended that the bottom of bumpers tend towards the 100 mm measurement, but this is only to allow improved ground clearance and is optional.
7. It is recommended that Hackys should have a mechanism to prevent rear wheel entanglement / wheels riding over (eg shakespeare fins / bodywork coverage)
6. Configuration of trikes should be agreed in advance with the organisers.
