Subs

As of 2025, subs will be £25 per person, per year.

Subs will renew each calendar year (Jan-Dec).

You must be a member with subs paid prior to competing, even if just for one race.

Assume 35 members, this allows £25 investment back in to the club per year.

Fees

Event entry (Per Capita) will nominally around ~£40, depending on duration, number of entries, event costs.

You must pay event fees prior to competing.

What does Per Capita mean?

MSUK NCR Chapter 1, Appendix 2, Section 14 defines per capita as “Competitors [entrants] signed on and in attendance” MSUK also states that Team / Endurance races where two or more Drivers share the driving of one vehicle entered, only one per capita fee is required per Vehicle (see below). Therefore if a single person wishes to bring more than one hacky, only one per-capita fee is required (for that entrant [person], assuming only one hacky is on the track at a time). If a group (e.g hackspace, or a plus one) take turns in one hacky, only one per-capita fee is required (but each competitor must have paid subs). Other team members must be available to help marshall as much as possible during races if taking advantage of this discount.

How did we arrive at these fees?

~~MSUK £32/event flat fee.~~ Now no event flat fees.
Van hire and fuel £150-200 (depending on duration/distance).
Any costs e.g. pitch, electricity hookup will be added to that event. Sometimes £hundreds.
Spread over on average <8 entries.
MSUK £12.50/entry.
£2.50/entry reinvestment to club.
People who race more, should pay more, as they make more use of the club.

Taster entries

Taster entries may be permitted at the discretion of the organisers with the following conditions.

A vehicle is available and the builder is prepared to loan it for the use of a taster.
The entrant has a genuine interest in joining after the taster.
The entrant has an RS Clubman license (free).
The entrant is a member of Hacky Racers (temporary taster membership may be granted FOC for the first 3 races at the discresion of the organisers - membership form to be completed).
Signing on forms have been completed.
The entrant has read and understood both the club rules and driver briefing.
